Davey Boy Smith Found Not Guilty; More WWF vs. WCW Legal Problems; Eric Bischoff Signs Three-Year Contract Extension; Brian Pillman Likely on His Way Out of WCW; WCW Universal TV Tapings; Yokozuna Turns Face; Pierre Oulette Signs with WCW, Jacques Rougeau Might Be Joining Him; Public Enemy's Johnny Grunge Suspended

The Davey Boy Smith trial in Calgary where he alleged to have beaten then 20-year-old Kody Light and given him permanent brain damage back in July 1993 after he made some sexual advances to Smith's wife Diana Smith (nee Hart) is over. The verdict is in as Smith was found not guilty. Had he been found guilty, the maximum sentence would have been 14 years in prison.

The prosecution witnesses could not get their story straight about how Smith attacked and damaged Light. The rest of the witnesses said they saw Smith grab Light and bring him over to the bouncers and that Light went back over to Smith, but slipped on the wet floor and hit his head and knocked himself out.

Smith and other wrestlers testified saying that the moves that Mr. Light had accused Smith of doing to him to injure him (such as suplexes and powerbomb) were virtually impossible to do without the cooperation of the other individual as Smith even claimed on the witness stand everything they did was fake.

WCW threatens the WWF with more legal action in reference to the Billionaire Ted skits, this time over the use of the "Huckster", "Nacho Man", and "Billionaire Ted" characters. WCW is further attempting to gain a restraining order on the WWF for not having the planned Huckster vs. Nacho Man match at WrestleMania.

The WWF responded by putting an ad in both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times warning share holders of Time Warner that Ted Turner lost $40 million of share holder money since Turner bought the company from Jim Crockett in 1988.

Also, the WWF sends a threatening letter to WCW stating that the skits are just a response to WCW saying disparaging remarks about the WWF on their shows and WCW Hotline as well as how WCW steals their ideas and how they tampered with WWF contracted talent in Lex Luger and Madusa.

Eric Bischoff signed a three-year contract extension to continue as Executive Vice President of WCW.

SuperBrawl might be the final event for Brian Pillman, if he even appears that is. On Nitro last week, Pillman and Kevin Sullivan no sold each other's attacks and kept from fighting each other during their tag team match. Pillman's actions both in and out of the ring looked very concerning to the wrestlers as he was out of control.

Sullivan hit him with a leather strap as they are both scheduled to take on each other in a "I Respect You" strap match later tonight at SuperBrawl assuming Pillman shows. Reports were that Pillman stormed out of the building without saying a word on Nitro believing he in fact quit the company.

However, he showed up the next morning for TV Tapings in Orlando but that doesn't mean he'll be there for the long haul. Eric Bischoff's comments on TV makes it look like his time in WCW is over. Speaking of the Orlando tapings, everyone except Randy Savage showed up without their title belts as they are planning on last-minute title changes and not having it 13 weeks in advance like previous.

The Giant and Zodiac (Ed Leslie) were shown to become babyfaces at the tapings which means they are going to leave the Dungeon of Doom. Zodiac will go back to his old barber character in the WWF as "The Clipmaster", who shaves the heads of jobbers. The Four Horsemen will remain as is through April as will Sting and Lex Luger still teaming up.

For the first time in his WWF career, Yokozuna turned babyface after being a heel for his three-plus years in the WWF. The storyline has him turning on and feuding with Jim Cornette, Owen Hart, and Davey Boy Smith.

Former Quebecer Carl Oullette (Jean Pierre Lafitte) is supposed to come back from hernia surgery and will leave the WWF and join WCW. He is trying to convince his former tag team partner Jacques Rougeau to come out of retirement and join him as a tag team in WCW.

Not long after joining WCW, The Public Enemy will be off TV for a while after SuperBrawl. Johnny Grunge has been suspended for taking a WCW van and arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). Grunge has no prior arrests in Florida so it is likely his DUI will be a slap on the wrist.
