Nitro is live from Augusta, GA with our hosts Eric Bischoff, Bobby Heenan, and Steve McMichael. Just as the show starts, Alundra Blayze comes to the announce booth and says she is Madusa. She holds the WWF Women's Championship belt and throws it in the trash can. She says this is "where the big girls play."
Mongo says he's sick and tired of wrestlers coming to the announce booth so he brings in his ex-Bears teammate William "Refrigerator" Perry to watch his back as we go to the opening match between Ric Flair and Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero was supposed to take on Flair a few weeks ago on Nitro, but Flair instead had Brian Pillman as Guerrero defeated him now it's Flair's time.
This was a thrilling match where Guerrero flips out of a back suplex and dropkicks Flair and goes for another but misses. Guerrero blocks a hip toss and counters into a backslide for a two-count. Guerrero runs into a boot to the face. Flair hits a knee drop to Guerrero. Flair chops and Guerrero counters with right hands and a back body drop.
Guerrero gives Flair a DDT off the second rope for a two-count. He then goes to the top rope and hits Flair with a Hurricanrana again for two. Guerrero again goes to the top rope, but Flair falls into the turnbuckle, causing Guerrero to fall onto the floor and injures his knee.
Flair attacks Guerrero's knee and brings him into the ring and puts the Figure Four on him. Flair uses the ropes for leverage. Guerrero won't give up but eventually passes out from the pain and the referee counts his shoulders down 1-2-3 as Flair wins a thrilling match.
Arn Anderson joins Flair and Gene Okerlund in the ring for an interview. Arn says that the Horsemen are on a roll as they show them attacking Paul Orndorff last week. He says "jump one of us, you jump on all of us." Kevin Sullivan and Jimmy Hart come to the ring to confront the Horsemen.
Sullivan tells Arn he has a big problem with Brian Pillman for insulting The Dungeon of Doom and wants him on a short leash. Flair seems cool with Sullivan but Arn isn't. Arn says you want Pillman, you want the Horsemen. Flair then says "united and it feels so good!"
The announcers talk about Madusa throwing the WWF Women's belt in the trash. They also mention the Triangle match at Starrcade as Sgt. Craig Pittman suddenly comes to the announce table and randomly asks Bobby Heenan to manage him to the World Title. Heenan says he doesn't manage anymore but tells him to ask Jimmy Hart as Pittman leaves.
Lex Luger takes on Marcus Bagwell. Bagwell goes for a splash, but Luger gets the knees up and hits him with a powerslam. He puts Bagwell in the Torture Rack as Bagwell gives up. Gene Okerlund interviews Luger and Jimmy Hart as Hart still mentions Luger is the "uncrowned WCW World Champion." Luger says he can't wait for Starrcade.
Sting takes on Earl Robert Eaton. Eaton misses a flying knee drop. Sting hits him with a Stinger Splash and locks him into the Scorpion Death Lock as Eaton gives up for the win. Okerlund then talks to Sting. Sting mentions how Ric Flair turned on him and Starrcade and how he is a five-time world champion and wants to be a six-time champion.
It's time for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship main event with Randy Savage defending the title against The Giant. Savage quickly attacks The Giant and goes on his back to apply a sleeper hold until The Giant throws him off. The Giant starts dominating Savage and puts him in a bearhug.
The Giant looks for the Chokeslam, but Savage gouges him in the eyes. He hits Giant with a few clotheslines, but runs into a backbreaker. Giant then lifts Savage up and chokes him and drops him as Savage rolls to the floor. The Giant then gorilla press slams Savage over the top rope from the outside back into the ring.
The Giant then climbs the top rope and is about to hit Savage with a flying splash, but missed as Savage moved out of the way. Savage climbed the top rope and hit The Giant with the Flying Elbow Drop, but only got a two-count as The Giant easily kicked out by tossing Savage off of him.
The Giant then hits Savage with a huge dropkick to the floor. The Giant then attacks Savage on the floor and lifts the padding off the floor to expose the concrete. The Giant tries to suplex Savage onto the concrete, but Savage holds onto the ropes as Giant crashes onto the concrete. It doesn't phase him as he comes right back into the ring.
He gives Savage the Chokeslam. He then hits Savage with a leg drop and looks to be the new champion as the referee counts 1-2 and then Hulk Hogan runs to the ring and attacks The Giant to get Savage disqualified and retains the title.
Hogan attacks The Giant with a steel chair several times. He then hits Kevin Sullivan with the chair and begins to hit any and every referee that's in his way as Hogan has "snapped" until William Perry and Steve McMichael run down to the ring to calm Hulk down.
Gene Okerlund runs into the ring to interview both Hogan and Savage. Gene mentions how Hogan could get suspended for attacking officials since he is already on "probation." The Giant then runs back down only for Hogan to hit him and Sullivan and Jimmy Hart with more chair shots.
Hogan says he is sick and tired of The Giant and being on probation. He is also sick of everyone getting World Title matches but him and wants a title match against Savage. Savage says he will give him a title shot after he gets Ric Flair next week on Nitro and Starrcade and will give him a title shot afterwards. Hogan is getting a title shot on the New Year's Day episode of Nitro it seems.
Hogan then warns Perry and McMichael about coming into the ring but McMichael says he's trying to prevent Hogan from doing the wrong thing.
